Susan and Melissa @ Kingwood High School Library

Susan Schilling at Kingwood High School Library would like to welcome Melissa Adelman, her new Library Assistant.  We are happy to have Melissa join our library team! Cara Rydell at Greentree Elementary was sad to have her best parent volunteer leave!
Love the new seating area that the Kingwood Library is getting!
Lots of computers at the Kingwood High School library. They can accommodate over 80 students!  That's amazing!
Susan is the TAYSHAS Committee Administrative Assistant and reads over 150 books every year for this reading program in Texas!  Wow!

Adorable Reading displays!

I was very impressed with Susan's tabulation sheet process!  She is very organized!

Summerwood Elementary and Kristal Schneider's 1,000,000 Minute Reading Program!

Kristal Schneider's  1,000,000 Minute Reading Program at Summerwood Elementary is quite literally mind blowing!  I was so impressed with the year-long program and I can't even begin to describe it accurately here.  Luckily, Kristal will teach us about it at our August 20th Library Affinity Meeting.
And we can emulate some of the amazing activities Summerwood Elementary uses to improve Reading, Learning and School Spirit!

Fabulous job, Kristal!

Thank you also for Chairing the Children's Book Festival next year!!!

Blow up Screen for
Movie on the Lawn and family camping night.
Kristal was taped to a wall!  Ask her about that and the dance party, lunch dates and her Principal camping on the roof of the School!  A big thanks to the Administrators at Summerwood Elementary for their amazing support of Reading and Learning!

Summer Creek Library Learning Commons

Donna Smalley and Louise Lankau have created an innovative Learning Commons in the Summer Creek Library.
They have a 3D printer and a fabulous MakerSpace!

Comfortable Collaboration area.

Donna and Louise have graciously volunteered to show us how to set up a learning commons and MakerSpace at our August 20th Library Affinity meeting.

Ruth Parrish @ KPark: New Tayshas Committee Member!

Ruth is required to read  80 books for the Tayshas Committee and has already read over half of them.  She is an incredibly fast reader!  Congratulations on your Selection to the Tayshas Committee!

Cute Prom display and the shoe actually belongs to Ruth!

Ruth has 3 computer labs in her library.  I have computer lab envy.

Cultured Cataloger:  Ruth is not only a librarian, but a world traveler and was featured in her school magazine!  She recently traveled to Portugal and will be going to France this summer!  I'm so jealous!

Loved this idea:  No backpacks at the computers which cuts down on messes.

Plickers in the Library by Cara Rydell @ at Greentree Elementary

I had so much fun on my visit with Cara Rydell and a Greentree 3rd Grade class.  For Children's Book Week, Cara engineered an interactive Plickers lesson.
Her students were engaged, having fun and learning!  And she has agreed to show us her lesson at our district training on June 9!  Thank you Cara!  And Congratulations!  Her son and my daughter are both graduating from college this weekend!
And they both have jobs!

Plickers even had the boys engaged!

I want  Mrs. Rydell for my Librarian!
Cara used her Ipad and her mobile phone

What's your Superpower!  Loved this display!
Gorgeous paintings make the library warm and inviting!

Adorable student searching Destiny on her own!
